HOTTY TODDY YALL!!!!!!!!!

November 14th will go down in my book as one of the best days of my LIFE!

I have lived 5 almost 6 years of my life in partial agony. I say partial because I LOVE it here in Knoxville......wonderful friends, wonderful climate, wonderful scenery.......but the team of choice just KILLS me. Those orange UT volunteers are EVERYWHERE........................

Just ONE of the many billboards around town

.......and they are full of themselves (a bit humbled I may add after the past year or two), and as of November 14th, this Ole Miss fan can be very full of herself......as can the rest of my immediate family. We have endured years of ridicule. I mean, the first football season we were here, Ole Miss played UT in football......here......in Neyland Stadium.....the year AFTER Eli left.......the year BEFORE Cutcliffe got fired.....a very BAD year. I can vividly remember leaving the stadium on my way back to Calhoun's on the River , where we parked the car. We had to pass EVERY boat in the "VOL Navy" to get there. Many drunk, obnoxious, and.......FULL OF THEMSELVES. They only beat us 21-17, but from the sound of the band playing ROCKY TOP, you would have thought they annialated us...........like we did on

OLE MIS 42 TENNESSE 17

I woke at 5:30 am, the morning of November 14th to of all things......the sound of Rocky Top!!!! Yes, the "full of themselves" Volunteer fans that we had so graciously invited to our OLE MISS home had popped the obnoxious song into our cd player......on Mississippi soil!!!! (well kind of.....we were hosting them at the River)

Now, I had endured the whole way there (5 hour trip) the orange crush drinks, orange flags, orange attire, empty threats.......but that was a bit too far in my book. I was hesitant to say much because I honestly wasn't sure we would pull this game out. So, being the polite, well mannered, humble Ole Miss fan I am, I held it in JUST IN CASE!

Our "not so humble" UT fans BEFORE THE GAME.

After......gotta love that score......
At one point during the game, after about the fifth touchdown, my sister, who was brought up like myself.......in Mississippi.....where we are taught football etiquette from the time we are born......and even in our Sorority Houses......texted me to remind me of how we were raised and to be humble. I do have to admit, the thought did cross my mind to play DIXIE all the way home for our not so humble UT guests. But I snapped out of my daydreaming state, cleared my throat, smoothed out my hair, and sat up all prim and proper.....and remembered where I came from......DIXIE!
Upon our return to the ole Volunteer State, I instructed my hubby to swing by our local Ace Hardware store as soon as we exited the Interstate. He looked at me with a questionable stare. I explained my reasoning being the fact that for SIX years, I kept my Ole Miss flag all folded neatly in the foyer closet.....having to endure the pain of losing to UT on a pretty regular basis....you know.....grin (or grimmace) and bear it. (oh.....I did pull it out and hang it on our door when we beat Florida in THE SWAMP in 2008.....neighbor across street Florida fan) But NOW......for ONE WHOLE YEAR......I can fly it with PRIDE......365 days and counting......humble, Mississippi born, football etiquette, raised with class.......PRIDE!!!!!!!!
I neglected to a picture of our VERY HUMBLE ut friends AFTER the game.....too much excitement I guess.........

HOTTY TODDY YALL!!!!!!!

I dedicate this posting to my UT guests on that wonderful weekend.......Roger, Cindy, Larry
and to my UT friends that really were chapped (but wouldn't admit it) that we won.
i.e. Tina, Paul, Melanie, Dennis
and to all of those fans who traveled all that way to Dixie to get their butts KICKED! :)

Fall 2009

Nothing says Fall like a trip to the Pumpkin Patch with friends and carving pumpkins!

Getting syked up for HAUNTED corn maze!

We always love carving pumpkins. I just wish it was like it was when we were kids......you know, just a simple jack-o-lantern would do......not anymore!!!!!

This Halloween came with double duty! First of all, our church held its second annual Fall Frenzy and once again, I was involved with helping set up and was also in charge if ......CANDY!!!! What would Halloween be without all the CANDY! The Fall Frenzy was on friday, October 30th. That was the same night as the LAST Farragut football regular season home game. Not only does Jason provide an RV for the refs at all home games, he had also committed for the second year, an RV for the First Aid at the Fall Frenzy. Good grief!!! Needless to say, we got it all handled!

Jamesen dressed up as a "fancy old man" and Christian was the nasty bloody scream
guy. This was friday night right before the Fall Fenzy.

because he lost his mustasche from the night before......he won $25 for best costume....drawn on mustasche and all!

Halloween night 2009.....I took the younger crowd trick or treating while the older
crowd participated in the annual Fain Haunted House......

Should I Wear Orange?

This past weekend we were invited by our good friends the Fains to attend a UT Game. Against my better judgement, I accepted the offer. Let me start over.......We so wanted to be with our friends, that we accepted the offer. The first thing out of my mouth, being a loyal Ole Miss fan in a town inundated with ORANGE, was "Do I have to wear ORANGE?"

My sassy friend Tina replied on my facebook page "if you want tickets and a seat at the game, you better wear ORANGE!" I have to admit, before moving to the Metropolis of Knoxville, Tennessee, I LOVED the color ORANGE. I mean, I am a "Fall" and I look mahvelous is THE color. But this Ole Miss alum just could not bring herself to wear THE color no matter what. I would be a disgrace to my Ole Miss family and friends.

Jake and his friends in our "old seats"

Well, the day came (pouring down rain) and my Knight in Shining Armour called me with some lifesaving news.

My Knight in Shining Armour! in our plush seats.....

"Hey, I have some customers who just offered me 8 tickets to the game.......in the East Club"

How do you like me now?

Not being a UT fan and only gracing Neyland Stadium ......um.......two? times in our 5 football season life here, I had no idea what that meant. Well.......the East Club was like the Rebel Club.....just ORANGE. It means LOTS of good food, drink, and warm dry plush seating indoors, and covered plush seating outdoors.

Food, plush seating......and Tina got the kids in!

The view from the East Club

Roger (Jason's Boss Man and owner) and Amberly

My dilema was solved......no longer did I have to wear ORANGE. I had my OWN tickets......and they were GOOD!

Me, Tina, and Melanie.....no orange except a little on me! What the Heck???

I called up my sassy friend Tina and informed her of my POSH tickets and told her I now didn't have to wear ORANGE. I also asked if she, Paul, Dennis and Melanie would like to join us. Guess her answer.......YEP! And even she didn't wear ORANGE!

Them UT fans like thar ORANGE!
